The Beauty of Black and White

This is a cropped section of an illustration I recently completed for an upcoming book from Magination Press. (click to enlarge) I'm surprised by how much I've enjoyed working in black and white. I went old school and used India ink washes and a dip pen (along with a Staedtler pigment liner). P.S. There are five bugs hidden in the art. Can you find them all?

  1. This is so calming in B&W, and a joy to play 'find the bugs' :)
    Very nice illustration.

  2. Heehaw - I found all five, and a bonus Green Lacewing! Phew... I'm officially still a kid.
